Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) implementará 102 parcelas demostrativas en 40 hectáreas, distribuidas en los 9 departamentos del país, para evidenciar los beneficios de la urea como fertilizante en cultivos de maíz, arroz, sorgo, caña de azúcar, trigo, girasol, frutales, hortalizas y pasturas.
“Estas actividades se planifican en coordinación con socios institucionales y productivos como el Centro Nacional de la Caña de Azúcar (CENACA), dependiente del Instituto Nacional de Innovación Agropecuaria y Forestal (INIAF); la Empresa Estratégica de Producción de Fertilizantes y Abonos (EEPAF), universidades, centros de investigación, organizaciones de productores como las Uniones de Cañeros (Aguaí, Unagro y Guabirá), asociaciones de productores como ANAPO y federaciones sindicales de diferentes regiones, entre otros”, señaló José Luis Domínguez, profesional agrónomo de YPFB.
El equipo técnico de la estatal petrolera también desarrolla actividades de capacitación virtual dirigida a universitarios y productores en temas como la buena nutrición de cultivos y las buenas prácticas de fertilización con la urea. “A la fecha, ya fueron capacitados más de 600 participantes de los institutos tecnológicos agropecuarios del Norte Integrado de Santa Cruz y Portachuelo, además de estudiantes de la Universidad Evangélica Boliviana y productores en general”, agregó Domínguez.
Además, precisó que hasta ahora la intención de compra de urea, en el mercado interno, sobrepasa las 25.000 toneladas.
La puesta en marcha de la PAU representa un gran aporte a la reactivación de la economía del país, tomando en cuenta que los productores se ven afectados por el alza de los precios de este fertilizante en el mercado internacional, que ha ocasionado, en su momento, el incremento del costo en el mercado interno a 600 dólares por tonelada. Los precios de este fertilizante fluctúan en el mercado internacional, por lo que su valor está en función de esas variaciones.
Este complejo industrial petroquímico fue paralizado abruptamente durante el golpe de Estado por una inadecuada manipulación de la maquinaria por parte de personas no capacitadas en el manejo de equipos de tecnología de punta.
