En medio de tensión, regantes y pescadores se disputan el agua de la represa de La Angostura, en el camino al valle altor, debido a que este martes los productores abrieron las compuertas para desfogar agua para sus cultivos. Sin embargo, los piscicultores las volvieron a cerrar.
Todo empezó el martes cuando los regantes llegaron a la represa para desfogar agua, pero, de inmediato los pescadores que viven del turismo cerraron los accesos con promontorios de piedra. En respuesta, los regantes bloquearon la carretera al valle alto.
Por la sequía, la represa tiene un nivel muy bajo con 5.000 metros cúbicos (m3). Los campesinos necesitan el agua para el riego y los pobladores de la Angostura para mantener la actividad del turismo.
El gerente de la Asociación de Usuarios del Sistema Nacional de Riegos No. 1 La Angostura, Manuel Rocha, insiste en desfogar 3 millones de m3 para un solo riego de las cosechas de más de 5.600 mil productores agrícolas.
Pablo Montesinos afirmó que es imposible desfogar ahora porque La Angostura se quedaría sin nada. Son 21 comunidades, 16 de Arbieto y cinco de Tolata, que dependen de estas aguas de la represa.
