Defensa del Consumidor se suma a la denuncia de Emapa por el robo de 500 quintales de arroz

El viceministro de Defensa de los Derechos del Usuario y Consumidor, Jorge Silva, informó este martes que se sumará a la denuncia interpuesta por la Empresa de Apoyo a la Producción de Alimentos (Emapa), tras el robo de 500 quintales de arroz que eran transportados por una empresa privada contratada para el tramo Yapacaní-El Alto.

“EMAPA ya ha presentado la denuncia y nosotros nos estamos sumando a esa denuncia, especialmente con un trabajo que vamos a realizar en todos los mercados del país a fin de detectar si se está vendiendo este arroz, tomando en cuenta que vender robado es un delito», sostuvo Silva.

Advirtió que, si el producto es hallado en establecimientos, tiendas o puestos de venta se presentará inmediatamente una denuncia y se realizará una acción directa para comisar el arroz robado e iniciar un proceso penal contra los responsables.

El lunes 26 de diciembre, Emapa aclaró a la opinión pública que la responsabilidad del robo de 500 quintales de arroz, con destino a las Fuerzas Armadas, es de la transportadora contratada. Una parte del producto robado era comercializado en la zona El Tejar de La Paz.

Silva indicó que la empresa pública, en la mayoría de los casos, contrata el servicio de transporte de productos a los lugares de almacenamiento y al haberse producido el robo fuera de los almacenes la responsabilidad del hecho recae en la empresa contratada.

En ese sentido el hecho se encuentra denunciado y en investigación. “En ese trayecto no sabemos exactamente en qué lugar se ha producido el robo de 500 quintales, eso actualmente está en investigación”, declaró

El Viceministro explicó que el arroz debió llegar de a la localidad de Yacapaní a los almacenes de las Fuerzas Armadas en la ciudad de El Alto.
