La a Morenada declarada patrimonio de Bolivia, es reivindicada como danza típica de Bolivia que pone en escena la esclavitud al que eran sometidos los indios y negros traídos de África para trabajar en las minas.
El ritmo, el paso cansino, el pesado traje, las matracas, los cascabeles de los morenos, entre otros elementos representan a los esclavos encadenados obligados a trabajar en las minas por más de 16 horas continuas.
En este sentido, residentes orureños y paceños realizaron una demostración del baile de la morenada en la plaza Murillo de la ciudad de La Paz, para mostrar que es un baile típico del folklore boliviano y esta reconocido por la Unesco.
La demostración del baile pretendió mostrar la originalidad de la misma frente al pronunciamiento de su par peruano que pretende apropiarse del baile.
La Ministra de Cultura Sabina Orellana, recordó que el baile de la Morenada es netamente boliviano, rechazó que el Perú quiera adjudicarse su propiedad al declararla como patrimonio cultural de Perú.
“Queremos decirle a todo el mundo que la danza de la morenada es cien por ciento Bolivia” dijo la Ministra.
Recordó que la Morenada forma parte del Carnaval de Oruro de Bolivia, proclamado por la Unesco en el año 2001 como Obra Maestra del Patrimonio Oral e Intangible de la Humanidad e inscrito el 2008 en la lista representativa de Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad. Así también del Festival del Señor Jesús de Gran Poder declarado como Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad por la Unesco el año 2019”.
