Los salarios de los presidentes en Latinoamérica muestran una amplia divergencia, van desde los $us 3.500 hasta los $us 21 mil. De acuerdo con la escala de sueldos que publica Bloomberg Línea, el primer mandatario de Bolivia, Luis Arce Catacora, es quien tiene el salario más bajo. Mientras que el de Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou, recibe el más alto pago.
De acuerdo con la publicación, el Presidente boliviano es el mandatario que tiene el menor sueldo entre todos, con $us 3.535; le sigue el de Perú, Pedro Castillo, con $us 4.285,94; y Nayib Bukele con $us 5.181,72.
En contraposición a estos sueldos bajos, se sitúan los presidentes Luis Lacalle Pou, de Uruguay, con $us 20.956,95; Alejandro Giammatti, de Guatemala, con $us 19.576,15; Gabriel Boric, de Chile, con $us 10.673,62; e Iván Duque, de Colombia, con $us 10.770,33.
En el rango entre los ocho mil y seis mil dólares de sueldo se encuentran los presidentes de México, República Dominicana, Costa Rica, Panamá, Brasil y Ecuador, según la publicación.
Para el diputado Omar Yujra, estas cifras son una “muestra de la política económica que se desarrolla desde el Gobierno, en la cual destaca el tema de la austeridad por parte del Ejecutivo encabezado por nuestro Presidente, Luis Arce (…) siempre dando el ejemplo, esto con relación a otros países”.
“Cuando retornamos al Gobierno democráticamente, los dos aspectos que se tenían como principales objetivos fueron la reactivación y reconstrucción de la economía y la lucha contra la pandemia, entre otros. En ese marco, se asumió una política de austeridad”, remarcó Yujra.
El diputado destacó que en lo concerniente a salarios de las altas autoridades, como es el caso del Presidente, se han mantenido, no ha habido ningún incremento y eso es algo positivo y se está reflejando en lo internacional.
“Dentro de la política salarial, dentro de los últimos años, lo que ha hecho el Gobierno es subir el salario mínimo nacional (…) el haber básico de los trabajadores de manera paulatina, cosa que por ejemplo Bolivia ya no esté en un último lugar, eso ha crecido. Ahora estamos en el promedio de la región y ésa también es buena señal”, sostuvo.
Si se hace una comparación con años anteriores sobre la diferencia entre el sueldo de un Presidente y el de un trabajador, se tiene que en 2005 Carlos Mesa ganaba casi cien veces más, hoy esa relación ha disminuido drásticamente a sólo 11 veces de diferencia.
