El ministro de Defensa, Edmundo Novillo, destacó la cooperación de Rusia en la lucha contra el narcotráfico, el contrabando y las emergencias ocasionadas por desastres naturales en Bolivia.
La autoridad gubernamental participó en la IX Conferencia de Seguridad Internacional en Moscú, organizada por el Ministerio de Defensa de Rusia el 23 y 24 de junio. En el encuentro se discutieron temas como las amenazas y los retos modernos para la seguridad en Europa, Asia, África y América Latina.
“Tenemos que estar preparados para responder a esas amenazas y por eso nuestra presencia aquí, en este evento”, dijo en entrevista con el portal de noticias ruso RT.
Señaló que para Bolivia es de importancia profundizar relaciones con Rusia, porque es “un país cooperante, incondicional, un país amigo”.
Explicó que, en el caso del contrabando, el Estado Plurinacional coordina con empresas rusas especializadas en equipamiento militar y tecnológico.
Respecto al narcotráfico, indicó que Rusia coopera en un proyecto del control del espacio aéreo a través de aviones y drones.
El equipamiento y medios para atender emergencias ocasionadas por los desastres naturales es otro de los temas de coordinación bilateral.
